The Religion and Science in Conversation teaching resource consists of five one-hour in-depth conversations between a national religious leaders and a senior professor on an issue of national concern, along with associated teaching materials. Both scholars and religious leaders carry deep expertise and the trust of their communities, but the two voices rarely share the same room.
Watching, discussing and writing about each conversation allows and invites students to think and talk about how the two ways of knowing what is “correct” exist in themselves and their communities, and how each contributes to personal and collective decision making.
In a moment when public trust in institutions is fragile, Religion and Science in Conversation is building a different kind of public square, one conversation at a time.
